SCOSTEP 2010

  Welcome to Berlin
Dear colleagues and friends,

On behalf of the SCOSTEP Bureau it is the great pleasure of the local organizing committee (LOC) to invite you to the STP12 symposium, which will take place in Berlin from July 12-16, 2010. After many years this quadrennial meeting will be held again in Germany. We are proud to host this important assembly and will do our very best to create ideal conditions.

In its exciting past, Berlin has witnessed several historical events and played a crucial role in the reunification of Germany. In the 1950s and thereafter Berlin was the focus of the Cold War, but later became a symbol for international cooperation and friendship. Being more than 770 years old Berlin offers not only the opportunity to visit historical sites and political institutions, but also to take part in a multi-facetted cultural experience of a modern city. Berlin has always managed to create an exciting and, at the same time, relaxing atmosphere.

Berlin is a lively city of culture, where you will find marvellous restaurants, performances and exhibits. Since the STP12 symposium venue is in the center of a city whose public transportation is one of the best worldwide, it will be easy to take a few moments from your scientific activities and explore Berlin.

The primary reason for your visit is, of course, the science, and the opportunity to meet old and new colleagues and friends from around the world. The brand-new Campushotel is a superb meeting place. It offers all modern facilities in the heart of Berlin.

We are sure that the enthusiasm and hospitality of Berlin stimulates our symposium and makes your visit an unforgettable event.

Welcome to Berlin !
