General Travel Information to Kühlungsborn
The closest airports are Hamburg (HAM), Berlin Tegel (TXL) and Berlin Schönefeld (SXF). We recommend to fly to one of these airports.
After your arrival at the airport there are still two further stages ahead of you to finally arrive at Kühlungsborn.
We suggest to use the German railway (DB-Bahn) to go to Rostock Main Station (Rostock Hbf). However, please be aware that we recommend to take only trains, which provide a direct connection to Rostock Main Station to avoid any problems with changing trains on more rural stations. Please also pay regard to your travel dates. The times provided in the pdf-files for each airport are only valid by an
arrival on 18th of March 2012. If you arrive on another day the schedule will be different.
When you arrive at Rostock Hbf you have basically two choices. Either you take a taxi to Kühlungsborn, which will cost about 50-60 Euro or you take the bus.
The bus leaves at the Rostock ZOB, which is close to the Rostock Main Station Southeast exit (see map Rostock ZOB). However, please notice that the last bus from Rostock that arrives at Ostseebad Kühlungsborn Ost leaves at 21:50 LT from Rostock ZOB.
From the bus station Ostseebad Kühlungsborn Ost we will provide a shuttle service
to the Hotel Upstalsboom. The alternative accommodation places are within walking distance from the bus station (5-10 min walking distance).
So please inform us about your planned arrival time to provide us a chance to organize these things.
