Ioannis Christodoulakis (American College of Greece) Research activities at The American College of Greece

Ioannis Christodoulakis (American College of Greece) wird am 07.06.2026 auf unserem IAP-Kolloquium einen Vortrag zum Thema "Research activities at The American College of Greece" halten.

Zusammenfassung:

The American College of Greece (ACG), founded more than a century ago, has undergone substantial evolution in recent years, marked by important changes in its legal status and institutional orientation. Historically, ACG’s mission centered primarily on education and training across its three divisions, spanning Pre‑K through undergraduate and graduate studies. Within this structure, Deree—the college division—is organized into three academic schools: the Frances Rich School of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences, the School of Business & Economics, and the School of Science and Technology, comprising a total of fourteen academic departments.

Over the past five years, Deree has strategically expanded its focus to include research as a core institutional activity. This shift represents a significant structural transformation, requiring coordinated changes at multiple levels—from administrative processes to faculty roles and academic culture. During this productive period, new research teams have emerged and become active in diverse fields such as environmental pollution, natural hazards, GIS applications, artificial intelligence, robotics, cybersecurity, and related areas.

This presentation aims to showcase the research initiatives currently underway or in development within Deree, with emphasis on activities originating from the School of Science and Technology and the environmental sciences. It also seeks to connect these initiatives with potential partners and to foster meaningful interdisciplinary cooperation within and beyond ACG.
