Gravity waves and turbulence (MST16-3)

This session focuses on gravity waves and turbulence in the middle atmosphere. Submissions about observations of orographic and non-orographic waves in temperatures, winds, etc., of gravity-wave breakdown processes including turbulence and instabilities as well as secondary wave generation are welcome. Furthermore, we invite presentations about mesospheric bores, gravity wave intermittency, and similar topics. Contributions describing experimental studies by radar and/or lidar, space-based instruments, imagers, etc. as well as theoretical studies of the middle atmosphere dynamics are similarly welcome
