Citizen scientists provide a new perspective to IAP by sharing their observations, analyses, and curiosity. Involving citizens in science is beneficial for the scientific and the non-scientific community. Therefore IAP provides open access near real-time displays of measurements by radar, lidar, and cameras to support citizen scientists. In turn, the citizen scientists share their findings and interpretations with IAP and a wider community. Examples are the discussion group “Leuchtende Nachtwolken” or the Allsky7.net network of meteor cameras.
