Recent advances and future plans (MST16-7)

Conveners: Iain Reid (MSO), Ralph Latteck (MSO), Guozhu Li, Bernd Kaifler

We invite submissions pertaining to recent advancements in instrumentation, measurement analysis methods, and calibration within the domains of ionospheric, mesospheric, stratospheric, and tropospheric science. Topics may include but are not limited to applications of Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware, laboratory tests of experimental hardware, demonstration and validation of new measurement techniques, and concept studies of new instruments. Submissions reporting advancements in measurement analysis may include applications of Machine Learning, Compressed Sensing, Optimal Estimation, Nonlinear Dimensionality Reduction (NLDR), Multidimensional Spectral Estimation, as well as other promising techniques for analysis of radar and lidar data. Furthermore, we extend a welcome to presentations addressing prospective future space missions, rocket and airborne campaigns, lidar and radar systems, instrumentation networks, and worldwide observation campaigns.
